25C-NBOMe chemical substance phenethylamine, is a derivative of 2C-C (N- (2-methoxybenzyl, attached to an amine). 25C-NBOMe is hallucinatory and is similar in effect to 2C-C on the body; in rodent studies, it stimulates the activity of monoamine receptors and inhibits the reuptake of serotonin, norepinephrine in the synaptosomes of rodent brain (IC50 = 31 and 63 μM). Addition of N- (2-methoxybenzyl) to 25C-NBOMe increases the affinity and selectivity for 5-HT2A receptor, which leads to similar effects.
